Am I suitable for orthodontics?
At Hook Dental, Gareth Morris offers cosmetically focused orthodontic treatments designed to quickly and affordably correct common problems of crooked, gappy or twisted teeth. Typically treatment times are around six months and focus on treating the front six upper or lower teeth or both arches together. This technique is not suitable for children or more comprehensive orthodontic problems where we would recommend treatment by a specialist orthodontist. We can offer our adult patients three choices of brace systems. We hope that one of them will be suitable and tick all the right boxes for you.
Our fixed braces from Cfast use crystal clear brackets and white coloured wires to gently reposition your teeth in around six months. This system provides accurate control of tooth position and is very unobtrusive.
Our crystal clear plastic aligners straighten your front teeth effectively without anyone knowing you are even wearing them. They are comfortable to wear and are not fixed permanently to your teeth although they have to be worn all the time except while eating.
Our fast braces from Inman Aligner can transform your front top and bottom teeth in a matter of weeks. The big advantage of the Inman Aligner is that it is typically worn for 18 hours a day giving you some valuable time off from treatment where social and working engagements are important.
Free initial consultation
You are invited to visit us at Hook Dental for an initial free consultation to assess your suitability for orthodontic treatment. At this consultation we will explain the advantages and disadvantages of each treatment so that you can make an informed decision about your orthodontic care.
Should you wish to proceed further this consultation will be followed up with a full case assessment, which costs £150. This thorough and detailed appointment involves creating models, taking precise measurements, x-rays and photographic records. If you are suitable for brace treatment at Hook Dental and decide to proceed, the £150 charge will be deducted from the cost of your treatment.
As part of your treatment it may be necessary to carefully adjust the shape of some of your teeth. Our analysis will ensure that any adjustment will not affect the long-term health of your teeth. After treatment all patients will require some form of long-term retention to ensure their teeth do not revert back to their original position. We recommend wherever possible fitting a permanent bonded wire to the back surface of the teeth usually between all six front teeth to fix their position. Sometimes we may use a removable retainer instead of or as well as the bonded retainer which must be worn every night. These first retainers are included in the cost of your treatment, but may need to be repaired or replaced over time.
What if I’m not suitable?
Everyone is different and if you aren’t suitable for orthodontics at Hook Dental, we promise to do all we can to find an alternative treatment to achieve your smile desires or refer you on for treatment with a specialist orthodontist
