Terms & Conditions

Our practice aims to provide dental care of a consistent quality, for all patients. We have management systems to help us, which define each practice member’s responsibilities when looking after you.

In proposing treatment we will take account of your own wishes. We will explain options, where appropriate, and costs, so that you can make an informed choice. We will always explain what we are doing.

We will do all we can to look after your general health. We will ask you about your general health, and about any medicines being taken. This helps us to treat you safely. We keep all information about you confidential.

Contamination control is essential to the safety of our patients. Every practice member receives training in practice systems for contamination control. Wherever possible single use disposables are used. Reusable equipment is sterilised by autoclave. We will always be polite and courteous in our dealings with you and treat you with respect at all times. We expect the same consideration from our patients in return. We reserve the right to refuse to treat any patient who is abusive or discourteous to any member of staff.

Our normal payment procedure is to ask you to pay a proportion of the cost of your treatment at each visit. The final payment being due on your last appointment. We are happy to give estimates of the total cost of a course of treatment before that treatment begins, and will keep you informed of any changes as treatment proceeds. Patients can choose to pay by either cash, debit or credit card. We no longer accept personal cheques.

Please give as much notice as possible if you have to cancel an appointment in an emergency. Please call on 01256 584485. For a genuine emergency cancellation, there will be no charge. With other cancellations, we will try to fill your allocated time with another patient but reserve the right to charge ( at a rate of half our normal hourly fee ) if we are unable to do so.

Whenever possible, please contact us about emergencies during normal surgery hours. If you need to be seen the same day, please get in touch as early in the day as possible. In the case of an emergency out of hours, phone the number below, and you will be put in touch with our dedicated paging service where you can leave a message for the on call dentist. If treatment is necessary, we will do our best to arrange it within 24 hours. Emergency Telephone (01256) 584485

We aim to make your treatment as pleasant as possible every time you visit us. However if you feel you have not been treated as you would have liked, or are dissatisfied with any aspect of our practice, we want to know. It is only through hearing from you that we can help and improve our service. Please mention your concerns in the first instance to your dentist. If they can not be resolved immediately and to your satisfaction, we may request your comments in writing. This practice operates an in-house complaints procedure for both Private and NHS patients, which adheres to nationally agreed criteria. More information is available from reception.

Clear Aligners

Clearsmile Aligners

If you would like a low impact brace that only you will know you are wearing then ClearSmile Aligners from Hook Dental in Hampshire could be just right for you. This clear, removable cosmetic appliance is designed to straighten your ‘smile’ teeth - the 6-8 teeth at the front of your mouth. ClearSmile Aligner technology can straighten teeth that are crowded, rotated, or tilted forward or backwards using a series of clear, thin aligners each computer designed to move your teeth just a small amount. Each aligner is worn for a week and then the next aligner in the series is fitted. The aligners typically come in sets of six and treatment normally requires between 1 and 3 sets of aligners.

Computer aided design is employed in the construction of these aligners and you will be able to see the projected results of your treatment on a virtual 3D model before you even start your treatment. Once the result is approved, the custom-made ClearSmile Aligners are fabricated using the latest in 3D printing technology.

Transparent & smooth

Correcting the position of your teeth with the aesthetic ClearSmile Aligner has become an important form of therapy in contemporary orthodontics. This concept has proved particularly successful in many clinical cases of adult treatment. It ensures optimal treatment results, combined with a high-level of comfort and aesthetics

Other people will hardly notice you are wearing a brace because the ClearSmile Aligner is transparent and smooth, without any brackets or metal components to cause irritation.

The benefits of ClearSmile Aligners at Hook Dental

  • Smooth, comfortable and almost invisible - you’ll find that you forget you are even wearing braces.
  • You can enjoy laughing, smiling and socialising without the worries normally associated with the more obvious fixed braces.
  • When eating or cleaning your teeth or aligners, you can simply take them out quickly and easily, whenever you like.
  • You can see the projected results of your treatment before you start.
  • Treatment times of between two and five months

What will treatment involve?

A series of custom ClearSmile Aligners are made from moulds made of your teeth to the highest standards using a combination of 3D printing and moulding. Your dentist will regularly monitor the progress of the ClearSmile Aligner treatment and new impressions will be taken every 6 aligners to ensure that your treatment goals are being met.

Recall appointments are approximately every 4 weeks and patients can be accommodated for early morning or late evening appointments if necessary to fit around busy work or social schedules.

The cost of your treatment is spread over the whole treatment time so there are no upfront payments and you can more easily budget for your treatment.

What does Clear Smile Aligner cosmetically focused orthodontics cost?

We will discuss and agree a fee with you before your treatment starts that is based on your specific requirements, but as a guide people who have had this type of treatment at Hook dental have paid in the region of £1,500 to £2,900 depending on the number of sets of aligners required and whether one or both arches of teeth are being treated. This includes the cost of your first bonded retainer and /or removable retainers.
